Jason Gilliam-Alexander was born in Queens, New York and has over 25 years of basketball playing and training experience on the NYC blacktops, Catholic Youth Organization, AAU powerhouses Bronx Gauchos and Riverside Hawks, Aim High Foundation, Archbishop Molloy High School and Oak Hill Academy, The University of Rhode Island, Stetson University, and Kalnapilis of the LKL-Lietuvos Krepšinio Lyga. Jason has been mentored and coached by legendary High School Coaches Jack Curran and Steve Smith, Former Providence Friar Coach Robert Holford, Aim High Foundation Coaching Guru Vincent “The Mentor” Smith, University of Alabama Coaches Anthony Grant and Dan Hipsher, as well as former NBA Players Bernard King, Washington Wizard GM Ernie Grunfeld, Nate “Tiny” Archibald, Al Skinner, TNT analyst Kenny “The Jet” Smith, ABC analyst Mark “Action” Jackson and former NBA All-Star Kenny Anderson.
Jason was selected Honorable Mention HS All-American at Oak Hill Academy in 1991, Atlantic-10 All-Freshman Team in 1991-92 as he lead his team to an NIT Tournament selection, First-Team All TACC Conference in 1994-95 & 1995-96, TAAC Newcomer-of-the-Year in 1994-95 and a Naismith Award Finalist in 1995-96. Jason was selected into the Stetson University Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
Ingrid Gilliam Alexander
Ingrid Gilliam-Alexander, Co-Founder, Executive Operations Officer
Ingrid Gilliam Alexander has served as the Executive Administrator and Office Manager since the inception of MVP. In these roles she manages the success of the programs through the business development, outreach, oversees the registration process for the leadership skills and development programs, supervises staff/personnel and manages finances. A veteran business professional in the product inventory management and purchasing department of several enterprises, she has experience analyzing and interpreting customer forecasts, sales history trends, and new product introduction. Previous to MVP, she was an Account Manager and Junior Sales Representative for Medline Industries, Inc. a healthcare manufacturer and distributor in South Florida.
As the mother of two teenage sons, she knows the valuable impact of sports training and mentoring as her two sons have been disciplined through team sports playing peewee football for city parks at early developmental stages. Her eldest son a freshman in college aspiring to transfer to a Division 2 university as a sophomore to pursue his passion of football, while her youngest son is a star on his high school basketball team. A South Florida native, she was also a former high school basketball player at Hialeah High school, where she trained and developed leadership skills and became a team player.
She attended Miami Dade College.
Kayla Papp, Public Relations
Originally from Ocala, Florida Kayla is a recent graduate from Barry University with a Bachelors in Public Relations. She currently holds a job as an EMT in Miami Dade County, with the hopes to become a firefighter and an officer in the Air Force. Growing up, Kayla was involved in community service and sports which is where she grew to love helping others whether through service or through athletics. Kayla was a tennis player for 8 years, and her team throughout high school made it to states three years in a row, she even led her team as number 1 seed her senior year. Kayla used to enjoy helping her tennis coach teach young players during his summer camps and from this experience understands the importance of being a role model to young children.

Christopher Horton, Research & Development
Chris has an insatiable appetite for two things: winning and sports.
His passion is learning and consuming as much sports as possible. Whether it happens while he is coaching as a volunteer, attending coaching and scouting clinics, networking with professionals in the industry, or conducting research as the writer of HortonBasketball.com, He is always looking for a new way to increase my basketball acumen.
He aspires to be a General Manager of a basketball or football franchise more than anything.
Omari Murphy, Operations Director of MVP, Atlanta, BBA Stetson University
Extensive work with youth in education and athletics with Atlanta Public Schools and the Boy Scouts of America. Coaching background in Soccer and Wrestling, where he has won 7 Metro Atlanta Middle School Championships, 11 Atlanta Public Schools City Championships, and 2 Georgia Middle School Championships. Helped over a dozen young men earn the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts. While mentoring numerous youth in obtaining college scholarships. Omari is a GA High School State Champion in Wrestling and Eagle Scout.
Bryant Conner, GA Basketball Program Director
Bryant Conner was born August 4, 1972 in Fort Lauderdale; Florida has over 25 years of playing basketball, training and coaching experience. As a 1990 graduate of South Plantation High School in Plantation, Florida. Recipient of team’s MVP awards two straight seasons. Miami Herald and Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel All-Tournament Choice. Also garnered All Broward County Honors with John Key, Greg Gibson, Sinua Phillips, and Eddie Jones former NBA player.
Played at Stetson University from 1990-1994. Bryant has been mentored and coached by legendary College Coaches Glenn Wilkes now scout for the Los Angeles Lakers. University of Alabama Coaches Anthony Grant and Dan Hipsher as well as Ely High School Coach Melvin Randall.
Have worked, coached and volunteered in Fulton County Parks and Recreation for 14 years. Won 10 GRPA State Championships in ages 7-17 years old. Have worked with and trained McDonald All American Jelan Kendrick now at UNLV, McDonald All American and Jr Olympian Diamond Deshields now at University of Tennessee, Tay Spann University of Georgetown, Raymond Davis Winthrop College National Champ and many others.
Bryant was 1990 runner up for Player of the Year behind Eddie Jones former NBA Player for the Lakers, Bobcats and the Miami Heat, All-Trans America Athletic Conference candidate and first team pre-season All TAAC choice by the Sporting News 1991-1994.
Marcus Thomas, MVP Football Program Director
Coach Thomas is originally a Miami native. His educational background consists of a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Arts degree in Communications with emphasis in Promotions from Lindenwood University – Belleville.

- -Helped lead team to 2008 Rose Bowl.
- -Sealed the game with Late-game INT vs National Championship runner up-and then #1 ranked Ohio State on the road as a True-Freshman
- -Former 3 star athlete (Rivals) Top 30 Cornerback in Nation
- -Career was cut short due to back to back ACL surgeries in 2008 and 2009.
- -Defensive Backs coach at Lindenwood-University from 2012-14
His hobbies are mentoring youth, educating those on the importance health and wellness, writing and watching football. Coach Thomas comes to MVP with exceptional community and programming experience and expertise in the field of parks and recreation.
Erik Burns, MVP Football Division Director
Erik comes to the MVP Organization with a passion for building the character of young men. Erik attended the University of Illinois where he received his Bachelors degree. While at Illinois, Erik became a student manger for Fighting Illini Football, eventually working his way up to Quality Control Coach. After leaving Illinois, Erik moved to Miami to pursue a degree in Sports Administration at St. Thomas University. After completing his degree, Erik completed the Bill Walsh Minority Internship with the Chicago Bears working with the Special Teams and Offensive Sides of the ball. His hobbies include church, mentoring young people, and studying football.”
Norinne Mililani Quinsaat, Volleyball Division Director
Mililani, a Hawai’i native affectionately called “Coach Mili” by her players, provides over four decades of extensive experience hailing from Maui’s first family of volleyball. With extensive background in the entertainment field teaching hula and volleyball, she was the former coach at the prestigious Kamehameha Schools-Maui campus. An advocate of grassroots level developmental programs, Mili also does specialty training: setters and libero. Coach Mili’s daughters competed for top NCAA collegiate programs and legendary Hall of Fame coaches: University of Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine volleyball star Nalani for legendary coach Dave Shoji; Tania at national power UC Santa Barbara for “The Queen” and ESPN Women’s Professional Beach Tour color commentator, the legendary Kathy Gregory; and Twaila at powerhouse Hawaii Pacific University for legendary coach Reydan “Tita” Ahuna. All three daughters are in their respective school’s record books in various all-time leader categories. Mili founded the Maui Volleyball Officials Association (MVOA), where she served as Director of Volleyball Officials to all high schools on Maui, Lanai and Molokai for the Maui Interscholastic League. A testament to her ability to train skills, recently three former boys players all became high school conference Player of the Year- two setters and an outside hitter. Some former noteworthy players she has trained in volleyball include the daughter of worldwide star “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson, current University of Colorado Boulder women’s volleyball head coach Liz Kritza and University of Nebraska All-American setter Fiona Nepo.
Donald Quire, Operations Director for Tampa, Florida
Donald is a highly motivated individual. When asked to become a member of the MVP family, he was honored and didn’t hesitate to accept. As a former athlete and coach, he brings a well-rounded understanding of how to administer sports programs. Donald has a sports background ranging from Basketball to Track & Field.
While enrolled at the University of South Florida, he took courses such as International Management, Marketing, Public Speaking, and Leadership. With a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from USF, Donald plans to carry out his role at Mentoring Valuable Protégés Inc. in a manner of pure professionalism.
